Basic white bread recipe:
3/4 cup warm water
2 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs butter
1/2 cup warm water + 2 tbs milk powder or 1/2 cup warm milk
3 cups all-purpose flour (approx)
In medium bowl mix yeast sugar and warm water. Allow to proof. (Wait 5 minutes if using traditional yeast or just mix if using instant)
Add salt veg oil and warm milk.
Add 2 cups of flour. Dough should be quite sticky. Stir until well mixed.
Now add flour 1/4 cup at time and stir until to stiff to stir.
Turn out onto floured board or counter.
Knead. Need until no longer sticky and dough is smooth.
Rise 1 hour.
After first rise roll out with rolling pin to 1/4 inch thickness. Should be about 9×13.
Coat with thin layer of butter
Sprinkle with thick layer of brown sugar.
Sprinkle with generous amount of cinnamon.
Roll starting at long end.
Should have a 13 inch long roll.
Cut into 12 equal slices.
In a sauce pan melt .5 cup butter and .5 cup brown sugar.
Pour into 9×13 pan.
Place rolls spiral side down into pan on top of caramel mixture in 3×4 pattern.
Allow to rise 30 minutes.
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
Allow to cool only 5 minutes.
Flip onto plate on cookie sheet covered in tinfoil. Do not wait longer or caramel sauce may harden and prevent bun removal.Credit: Naida
