This recipe makes the softest, most perfect hamburger bun! The dough is a bit stickier, and it has a much longer rise time…. 90 min 1st rise with a 60 min second rise, but oh so worth the long wait! It made the most delicious and perfect buns last night for dinner with my homemade sloppy joe’s!
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbs yeast (instant)
(beat together then add:)
3 cups flour (i used bread flour) and have 1 additional cup of flour on the side, in case your dough is too wet, mine was perfect.
3 tbs soft butter
1 tsp salt
knead 5-7 min….. rise 90 min…. then punch down dough, log it, cut it into 8-12 buns depending on how large you want your hamburger buns (i made 8 and kept mine large) flatten with your hand, place on greased pan, spray tops, 2n rise 60 min, apply melted butter to tops, bake at 350 for 15-17 min (mine took 15 min), then while hot, apply 2nd coat of melted butter to tops. So SOFT! ENJOY!!!!
